* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 

  inches in the most persistent snow bands.



* WHERE...Northern Herkimer County.



* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Thursday.



* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A lake effect snow band will lift northward 

  into northern Herkimer County later this morning into this 

  afternoon before gradually tapering off tonight.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally 

heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can 

also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, 

visibility, and road conditions.

  accumulations of 2 to 5 inches in the most persistent snow bands.



* WHERE...Southern Herkimer County.



* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST this morning.



* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions will 

  impact the Wednesday morning commute.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A band of lake effect snow will slowly lift 

  northward across southern Herkimer County through this morning, 

  impacting the Thruway corridor prior to daybreak. The band will 

  lift north of the Thruway shortly after daybreak then north of 

  southern Herkimer County by midday. Snowfall rates may reach 0.5 

  to 1 inch per hour at times within the band.
