252 WWAK47 PAJK 302221 WSWAJK URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Juneau AK 121 PM AKST Tue Dec 30 2025 ...SNOW CONTINUES FOR THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE INTO WEDNESDAY... .Snowfall and periods of freezing rain continue for much of the northern half of the panhandle from Juneau and Icy Strait corridor area northward. The rain/snow line has moved southward, sitting just south of Tenakee Springs and Elfin Cove Tuesday morning. A low in the gulf is continuing to send bands of heavy snow showers across the area. Breaks between the bands have seen occasional periods of light freezing rain. Expecting two bands of heavy snow to move through, one moving in Tuesday afternoon and another overnight. Precipitation will start to move out and diminish through the second half of Wednesday, then clear up for Thursday. Please stay tuned to future updates on this impactful storm. Strong winds for Skagway and along the Klondike Highway will bring areas of blowing and drifting snow, with significant reductions in visibility down to a half mile or less through Tuesday morning.
