...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM AKST TUESDAY...



* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow. Snow accumulations 2 to 6 inches. 

  Highest amounts across Afognak Island and west of Kodiak City. 

  Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. Visibility as low as one half 

  mile at times.



* WHERE...Kodiak Island Northeast.



* WHEN...Until 4 PM AKST Tuesday.



* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow 

  could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could cause 

  damage to trees and power lines.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will develop from north to south across 

  the region this evening and continue through Tuesday afternoon 

  before tapering off. The combination of snow and blowing snow will 

  significantly reduce visibility at times. Near blizzard conditions 

  are possible at times from around midnight through early Tuesday 

  morning, during the timeframe of expected heaviest snowfall. Gusty 

  winds will continue into Wednesday, leading to areas of persistent 

  blowing snow as temperatures drop back into the 20s.

  half mile at times. Total snow accumulations up to 2 inches. North 

  winds gusting 35 to 50 mph.



* WHERE...Seward.



* WHEN...Until 5 AM AKST Tuesday.



* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. Areas of blowing snow could 

  significantly reduce visibility.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect periods of light snow through late 

  tonight or very early Tuesday morning. While the snow intensity 

  will be light, the snow will be light and fluffy and easily blown 

  around. Winds will diminish through the overnight hours.
