LAKOTA COUNTY...



The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the area.

Therefore, the warning has been cancelled. However, small hail, gusty

winds, and heavy rain are still possible with these thunderstorms.



A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 AM MDT Monday

for a portion of southwest South Dakota.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM MDT

FOR WEST CENTRAL HAAKON, SOUTHEASTERN MEADE AND EASTERN PENNINGTON

COUNTIES...



At 1146 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 7

miles northwest of Wall to 5 miles south of Badlands National Park,

or along a line from 33 miles west of Philip to 41 miles north of

Pine Ridge, moving northeast at 30 mph.



HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to

         roofs, siding, and trees.



Locations impacted include...

  Northern Badlands National Park, Scenic, Owanka, Wicksville, Wasta,

  Creighton, Wall, Pinnacles Ranger Station, Delta 9 Missile Silo,

  Quinn and Grindstone.



This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 92

and 120.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from

windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and

large hail.



Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.

Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can

hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
