A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 PM CDT for

northeastern Minnesota.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM CDT

FOR WEST CENTRAL ST. LOUIS COUNTY...



At 208 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line

extending from near Gheen to 6 miles southwest of Lake Vermilion to 9

miles southwest of Tower, moving northeast at 60 mph.



HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 

         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind 

         damage to roofs, siding, and trees.



These severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly rural areas of

west central St. Louis County, including the following locations...

Big Rice Lake, Franklin, Shermans Corner, Leonidas, Kinney, West Two

Rivers Reservoir, Idington, Angora, and Linden Grove.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly

from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado, go at once into the

basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.



For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a

building.
