...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM CDT

FOR SOUTHEASTERN AITKIN...NORTH CENTRAL PINE...SOUTHERN ST. LOUIS AND

CARLTON COUNTIES...



At 151 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Mille Lacs Band

East Lake Area, or 17 miles south of Big Sandy Lake, moving east at

35 mph.



HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 

         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 

         considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to 

         mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.



Locations impacted include...

Big Sandy Lake, Mahtowa, Barnum, McGregor, Cromwell, Kettle River,

Tamarack, Fond Du Lac Band Brookston Area, Mille Lacs Band East Lake

Area, Moose Lake State Park, Nemadji, Fond Du Lac Band Sawyer Area,

Sturgeon Lake, Kimberly, Automba, Wright, Sheshebee, Sawyer, Rice

Lake Wildlife Refuge, and Flowage Lake.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly

from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado, go at once into the

basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.



For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a

building.
