FOR EASTERN EDMUNDS...NORTHERN HAND...NORTHEASTERN HYDE...

SOUTHWESTERN BROWN...FAULK AND NORTHWESTERN SPINK COUNTIES...



At 717 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Northville, or

13 miles southwest of Warner, moving northeast at 55 mph.



THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR Chelsea, Northville, Mellette, and 

Ashton areas.



HAZARD...100 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.



SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. At 705 am 80 mph wind was 

         reported 6 miles south of Rockham.



IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may 

         be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes 

         will be destroyed. Expect considerable damage to homes and 

         businesses. Expect extensive tree damage and power outages.



Locations impacted include...

  Warner, Mansfield and Stratford.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly

from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the

basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.



This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind

speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are

especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be

overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the

lowest floor of a building. This storm has the potential to cause

serious injury and significant property damage.



Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to

flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
