The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...

  Southwestern McHenry County in north central North Dakota...

  East Central Ward County in north central North Dakota...



* Until 400 PM CDT.



* At 306 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Velva, or 17

  miles southeast of Minot, moving north at 30 mph.



  HAZARD...Tennis ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail

           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect

           wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.



* This severe thunderstorm will be near...

  Velva and Sawyer around 310 PM CDT. Granville around 335 PM CDT.



Other locations impacted by the severe thunderstorm include Simcoe

and Norwich.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure

and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing

dangerous hail and damaging winds.



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT Monday for a

portion of north central North Dakota.
