The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...

  Eastern Jones County in central South Dakota...

  Lyman County in central South Dakota...



* Until 615 AM CDT.



* At 440 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Intersection

  of Highway 83 and White River, or 7 miles northeast of White River,

  moving northeast at 35 mph.



  THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR EASTERN JONES COUNTY AND LYMAN 

COUNTY.



  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and tennis ball size hail.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 

           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect 

           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. 

           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.



* Locations impacted include...

  Vivian, 5 Mile Corner, Presho, Earling Hill and Fate Dam.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



This storm is producing large hail. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy

structure and stay away from windows!



This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind

speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are

especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be

overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the

lowest floor of a building. This storm has the potential to cause

serious injury and significant property damage.



Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to

flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
