At 344 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6

miles north of Columbus, moving south at 20 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Columbus, Tryon, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock State Park, Mill Spring, and

Lake Adger.
