Under mostly clear skies, overnight temperatures were in the 70s to low 80s. Another hot, humid, and windy day is expected Monday across the region, with forecast high temperatures in the 90s to low 100s across the state, warmest over western portions. However, heat indices up to around 105 degrees are likely over generally the eastern half of Kansas during the afternoon and early evening. Additionally, wind gusts up to around 40 mph are likely. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible Monday evening over mainly central and western portions of the state, as a frontal zone sharpens across the High Plains. Severe weather is not expected, and most locations will likely remain thunderstorm- free. It'll remain breezy Monday night, with forecast low temperatures in the 70s to near 80 degrees. $$
