.DISCUSSION...Light snow will move out of northwest South Dakota

this morning with a dusting up to an inch of snow possible.

Temperatures across northwestern South Dakota will range from the

mid 30s to mid 40s. Highs across southwestern into south central

South Dakota will range from the mid 40s to mid 50s. Minimum

humidities will range from 25 to 45% across much of the area with

the highest humidities over northwestern South Dakota. Winds will

be out of the north to northeast at 10 to 20 mph, gusting to 30.

The grassland fire danger index will reach the very high category

this afternoon. Very poor weather conditions and very low 

moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on 

the ground, indicate that dangerous burning conditions exist. 

Fires will spread rapidly and show erratic behavior. Outdoor 

burning is not recommended.



The outlook for Sunday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index

will reach the moderate category to high category.

The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this

afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture 

content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,

indicate that there is high potential for a fire to spread. 

Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning 

or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the 

relative humidity is higher.



The outlook for Sunday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index

will reach the moderate category to very high category.
