NORTHEASTERN NEBRASKA...



Heat indices have slipped below 100F. Overnight temperatures in the

middle to upper-70s will make it difficult to cool rooms with no

air-conditioning. Monday afternoon's heat indices will once again

push into the 90s and close to the century mark, but won't be quite

as warm as today. For that reason, the heat advisory will be allowed

to expire.

  southwest Iowa and the Omaha metro.



* WHERE...In Iowa, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie,

  and Shelby Counties. In Nebraska, Douglas and Sarpy Counties.



* WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT Tuesday.



* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during

  extreme heat and high humidity events.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight heat indices in the upper-70s will

  make it difficult for homes without air conditioning to cool down.

  Hot weather is expected to persist through the week.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of

the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
