DISCUSSION...



Heat indices across northeast Oklahoma and west-central Arkansas

will top out at dangerous levels this afternoon, with values 

around 105 degrees. Conditions will improve by sunset this

evening.



South to southwest winds will gust between 25 and 30 mph through

the afternoon. Winds will subside this evening.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...



Hot and humid weather will persist this week, with afternoon heat

indices reaching dangerous levels at times in some areas. A heat 

advisory is in effect for Franklin County Arkansas on Tuesday, 

and additional advisories may be needed later in the week over

portions of the area.



There is a low chance of thunderstorm Thursday afternoon across

far eastern Oklahoma into western Arkansas. A weak front will

bring thunderstorm chances this coming weekend, especially on

Sunday.
