This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast

Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.



.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight



Strong northeast winds will increase the threat of rip currents  

through this evening for areas near the Twin Ports, including the 

beaches of Duluth and Superior. A Beach Hazards Statement has been

issued for these areas. 



Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible this evening and

tonight with large hail and gusty winds being the primary threats.



.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday



Strong northeast winds will redevelop over western Lake Superior 

Monday and will pose a risk of hazardous swimming conditions due 

to rip currents for the beaches of the Twin Ports.



Several rounds of thunderstorms are forecast Monday through 

Wednesday night. There is conditional threat for strong to severe

thunderstorms through Tuesday, with the greatest potential on 

Monday. Large hail, damaging winds, and locally heavy rainfall 

which could lead to flash flooding are the main hazards. A

tornado or two are also possible. 



There are additional chances of thunderstorms Thursday through 

next Sunday.



Hot and humid conditions are forecast Monday through Wednesday. 

The risk of heat-related illness will increase. An Extreme Heat 

Watch is in effect for Monday in Pine and Burnett Counties. Heat 

Advisories will also likely be needed.

and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.



.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight



Northeast winds of 10-20 knots with gusts to 25 knots are 

forecast near the Twin Ports and the North Shore through this  

evening which will pose a risk to smaller vessels. A Small Craft 

Advisory is in effect through this evening. 



Isolated thunderstorms will be possible this evening and tonight

with small hail, gusty winds, and cloud-to-water lightning as the

primary threats.



.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

 

Strong northeast winds may redevelop Monday and Tuesday. 

Additional Small Craft Advisories may be needed.



Several rounds of thunderstorms are forecast Monday through the 

end of the week. Some storms may be strong to severe Monday and 

Tuesday. The main threats will be large hail, strong wind gusts, 

and frequent cloud-to-water lightning.
