812 AGUS74 KWCO 292001 HMDNWC National Hydrologic Discussion - EXPERIMENTAL NWS National Water Center - Tuscaloosa AL 300 PM CDT MON JUN 29 2026 ...Flooding impacts from rainfall and snowmelt are likely through Tuesday in portions of Northern Montana...Flash flooding is possible through the week in American Samoa... .Northern Montana... Locally heavy rainfall, combined with high level snowmelt, will continue to keep small streams elevated with some rises on larger rivers. Low-lying areas and typically flood prone areas are at risk as the streams and rivers continue to rise and spill out of their banks. Locally significant impacts should not be ruled out for isolated communities as inundation of roadways and bridges are also possible. As such, this area will continue to be highlighted in the FHO as a Limited flood threat through Tuesday. Precipitation will begin to diminish over the region by midweek, with streamflows generally receding unimpeded thereafter. .American Samoa... Flash flooding is possible this week across the American Samoan islands as a trough moves across the region bringing prolonged heavy rainfall. Rock and mudslides could be possible if top soils become saturated in steep terrain from the prolonged rainfall threat. .Lower Ohio and Tennessee Valleys... Small stream and river flooding impacts may linger over the area through early this week as runoff continues to route downstream. Scattered minor to isolated moderate flooding is ongoing and forecast through early this week. Rainfall through the remainder of the week is expected to be very light, thus recessions are expected to be unimpeded. As many of these rivers have crested, this will preclude any further FHO selections for this area. //JAC $$
