Strong west-southwest winds gusting to 40 mph combined with single digit RH levels will continue into this evening, then high fire danger continues on Tuesday with more of a southerly surface flow, pushing fire to the north. Two important things to note: Current observations have noted weak winds at the surface in the vicinity of Beulah, while winds aloft and to the west have been very strong out of the west- southwest. Current hi-res models have shown light northeast winds helping to offset these stronger winds, but in the 2 PM to 4 PM time frame these winds weaken, allowing stronger southwest winds to push to the northeast. Prepare for wind shifts and potential fire spread. Secondly, latest models are showing very poor overnight RH recovery, which will allow for higher than normal fire activity overnight, along with a quicker start and intensity tomorrow morning. .REST OF TODAY...
