957 FNUS73 KLSX 281234 FWSLSX Spot Forecast for Clarence Cannon Unit 7...USFWS National Weather Service Saint Louis MO 634 AM CST Sat Feb 28 2026 Forecast is based on ignition time of 1000 CST on February 28. If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Today's wind and humidity forecast will be challenging, as a low pressure system will cause winds to shift throughout the burn period. Winds will likely begin the day out of the east, then gradually shift to the southeast early in the afternoon, and then sharply to the north near sunset. Winds will likely be moderately breezy throughout the burn period, with occasional gusts approaching 15 to 20 mph. Humidity is also expected to be relatively low, but not as low as yesterday. In spite of the lingering dry air, a few very light showers or sprinkles may reach the surface during the day, but likely not enough to accumulate. If rain does reach the surface, humidity is likely to remain slightly higher than the forecast below. Persistent cloud cover will also limit mixing and inhibit smoke dispersion, which will likely be challenging already due to the shifting winds. After winds switch to the north this evening, they will remain northerly through the night and gradually become northeasterly tomorrow morning. Much cooler temperatures are expected tomorrow along with persistent breezy northeast winds, but humidity will again be relatively low during the day until light accumulating snow arrives overnight Sunday. .REST OF TODAY...
