339 FNUS72 KJAX 291245 FWSJAX Spot Forecast for 4th of July...St. Johns County Sheriffs Office National Weather Service Jacksonville FL 845 AM EDT Mon Jun 29 2026 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0000 EDT on July 03. If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. Please contact our office at (904) 741-4370 if you have questions or concerns with this forecast. .DISCUSSION...A residual front hanging out over central and southern FL will begins move northward by Friday, resulting in increasing chances for afternoon thunderstorms with the sea breeze development. The steering flow and the Atlantic sea breeze will likely keep thunderstorm activity initially along the beachfront during the early afternoon and progress inland during the mid and late afternoon. Breezy southeast winds are likely Friday but low seas are expected. Prevailing winds flip 180 degrees by Saturday, with offshore flow enhancing the potential for thunderstorm activity over the near shore coastal waters during the afternoon hours. Right now, the forecast is around 40-50% but it's likely to rise as our confidence increases over the next few days. .FRIDAY...
