A cold front will move across the area this afternoon, and while winds don't look overly strong on either side of it, this will lead to a wind shift from the south/southeast to north/northwest as the front passes. Sustained winds are forecast to be 5-15mph with some gusts around 20mph, strongest for southernmost locations. Places along and south of the Turnpike should still reach the 70s this afternoon before the cold front. RH is expected to fall to 20-35% this afternoon, and generally locations south of I-70 look to see the lowest RH with the slightly stronger winds leading to very high fire danger this afternoon. A pattern change should limit fire weather concerns into next week with the first of several systems looking to bring a mix of wintry precipitation Sunday afternoon and evening.
