Critical fire weather conditions will continue across the district today until 10 PM tonight due to the combination of gusty winds and low relative humidity. Wind gusts at times maye reach 50 to 60 mph, especially in those gap flow areas, but winds are expected to weaken through the late afternoon into the evening. Overnight Rh recovery will likely very weak tonight, setting up another high fire danger day for much of the area tomorrow. Therefore, another Red Flag Warning is in place tomorrow for much of the area, save for the far eastern plains where strong to possibly severe thunderstorms may develop during the afternoon. A nearly identical day is forecast for Wednesday. The hottest days of the forecast are anticipated to be Friday and Saturday, with long range models indicating a possible return of some precipitation across the plains for Sunday and Monday. The inversion will set in this evening after 8 PM, with dispersion for much of the district becoming Poor. Surface-based inversions will break early Tuesday, between 0800 and 0900, with ventilation rates improving to Very Good to Excellent for all of the area by 1200 and lasting through 2000.
