Winds will diminish across the area today and Sunday, as the jet stream that was over Colorado continues to weaken and shift north. While humidity will be low and temperatures well above average again today, winds will be light enough to produce just some spotty elevated fire weather conditions over the high terrain this afternoon. Similar conditions are forecast for Sunday, with a cold front on the plains bringing moister air back to areas along and east of I-25. Windy and warm conditions return to the region on Monday ahead of an approaching weather system, with elevated to briefly critical fire weather conditions possible over the southern I-25 corridor in the afternoon. The upper level storm system will then track across Colorado on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing a chance of rain and high elevation snow showers to most locations. Warmer and drier weather returns late Wednesday into Thursday, before cooler conditions and a chance of showers develop on Friday. Afternoon smoke dispersion will be fair to good over much of the area today, with pockets of poor over the southeast plains and San Luis Valley.
