A cold front will continue moving southward across the Florida peninsula this afternoon, with scattered showers and storms forecast near and south of the Cape and Orlando metro. The highest coverage is forecast near the Treasure Coast and north of Lake Okeechobee, where a Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather exists. Any storms that develop will be capable of producing frequent lightning strikes, gusts up to 60 mph, and coin-sized hail. Lightning activity will have the potential to start new fires. The front moves south of east central Florida late tonight, with drier air filtering in from the north. There are no minimum RH concerns over the next couple of days. Winds become northeasterly on Sunday and easterly into Monday as an area of high pressure strengthens north of the area. Wind speeds will be enhanced each afternoon as the east coast sea breeze develops and moves inland, generally ranging from 10-15 mph. There is a low to medium chance (20-40%) of onshore-moving showers starting Monday. Afternoon smoke dispersion values are forecast to be good on Sunday, improving to very good on Monday.
