477 FNUS53 KLSX 282215 FWFLSX Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL National Weather Service Saint Louis MO 414 PM CST Sat Feb 28 2026 Locations near Mark Twain Lake and across the Ozarks where sunshine has been more prevalent have reached elevated fire weather conditions this afternoon. Generally, relative humidity values are in the low to mid 20s for these locations with the limiting factor for elevated criteria being the lighter surface winds. For locations along and south of I-70, mid-level clouds have been more widespread this afternoon which has kept relative humidity values in the lower 30s for most areas. Some scattered pockets of light rain are possible generally along and south of I-70 this afternoon into the evening where it is more likely to overcome the dry low-level air. A cold front pushes through this evening leading to a north wind tomorrow that will lead to highs about 20 degrees colder than today. As a result, minimum relative humidity values will be higher with upper 30s to mid 40s forecasted for the afternoon on Sunday. A round of widespread wetting rain and light snow is expected Sunday night through Monday morning. Additional rounds of wetting rain remain very likely Tuesday through the end of the week.
