The combination of warm, dry, and gusty conditions this afternoon could lead to elevated to near critical fire weather conditions, primarily for areas north of Interstate 80 and west of Highway 61. Any near critical concerns will likely remain in any areas that missed out on recent beneficial rainfall as well. Humidity values in the upper teens to low 20s will overlap with westerly gusts as high as 30 to 40 miles per hour this afternoon. Some threat for elevated fire weather concerns may persist into middle and late week, as warm and dry conditions overlap with gusty south winds at times.
