Winds have become nearly calm across the area, and will stay light and variable until gradually becoming more southwesterly later on Wednesday, a direction that will persist through Friday. Though these winds should gradually bring more humidity into the area, it will not be a quick process, and a warming trend will slow the increase in relative humidity values even more. Expect Wednesday's minimum RH values to again drop into the 20s and even upper teens in localized dry spots. Those values should increase modestly through Thursday and Friday. By Saturday morning, however, a weak cold front will filter drier air back into the region. As surface winds shift, transport winds will also do the same, ending the stretch of offshore winds for smoke management, becoming westerly and then southwesterly by Thursday. Mixing heights will generally be kept down by more stable air, but the gradual warming expected should allow them to drift slightly upwards over the next few days.
