Today: Well above average temperatures in the mid 60's to lower 70's and very dry conditions will persist, with minimum RH readings ranging from 10-20%, driest in eastern CO. Light winds are, once again, the primary limiting/mitigating factor. A short period of locally critical fire weather conditions is possible along/north of I-70, similar to the past few days. For reference, on Friday Feb 27, critical fire weather conditions were briefly observed at Yuma, Wray, St Francis and Hill City. A longer (~4 hour) period of critical fire weather conditions was observed in Goodland, KS between 1030 AM and 300 PM MST Friday. Sunday: No fire weather concerns. A modest cold frontal passage this evening and tonight will bring cooler temperatures to the region on Sun. Expect highs ranging from 40 to 55F, coolest east of Highway 83 and warmest in eastern CO.
