Briefly critical fire weather conditions are possible, but not likely, today. Today, RH values will drop into the mid to upper teens southwest of a line from Russell Springs, KS to Idalia, CO. This morning, a weak cold front will cause winds to shift and be coming from the northwest. Most gusts will be under 20 MPH, but a few gusts up around 25 MPH are possible. Tomorrow, RH values look to remain in the low 20s in a similar area. There will be another cold front tomorrow afternoon, causing a fairly quick shift of the winds to be coming from the northwest. There is a 30% chance winds behind the cold front gust to 25 MPH in the dry area. Over the next week, we are looking at about a front a day and very little chance of precipitation. Quick wind shifts will be common with the fronts and gusts of 25+ MPH are possible.
