Critical fire weather conditions are also occurring across portions of the Palmer Divide and plains, particularly along and south of I-70 where better mixing is occurring on the southern side of a pronounced Denver Cyclone. Expect elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions to continue there through the afternoon as well. Winds are expected to weaken overnight tonight, but humidity recovery is only expected to range from roughly about 30-50% outside of North Park and Middle Park. Tomorrow looks to be about as warm and dry as today, with elevated to critical fire weather conditions likely over most of the forecast area. Winds should be strongest across the higher elevations, where consistent gusts of 30-35 mph are probable during the afternoon. There is less certainty in winds across the lower elevations tomorrow afternoon, but elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions are still likely to occur across the Palmer Divide and adjacent plains. A few showers or storms are possible tomorrow evening across the far northeast plains with little chance of wetting rainfall elsewhere. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...Our prolonged period of elevated to critical fire weather conditions is expected to continue this week. Dry southwesterly flow aloft is expected over the next several days with no significant rainfall forecast. Temperatures are also expected to remain near or above normal through the period, leading to daily minimum RH values between 5-15% across most of the forecast area. The main question will be how much wind persists, with the flow aloft slowly weakening through the period.
