Critical fire weather conditions are ongoing across the northern plains as of early Saturday afternoon and will continue through late afternoon before west/northwest winds weaken. For the rest of the plains and urban corridor, lighter east winds will largely prevail, however humidity levels will remain very low during daytime hours today. Humidity recoveries will improve tonight, climbing above 60% for most areas. A few locations in the lower foothills may remain at or below 50%. Sunday will bring modest cooling, weaker winds, and a moderate increase in humidity. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday night through Thursday... West winds will increase Monday with much warmer and drier conditions returning.
