Critical fire weather conditions are ongoing throughout much of central and northern New Mexico today due to gusty southwest winds and low humidities. Winds will remain elevated through the night in the northern mountains, particularly along the east slopes of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Winds trend lower in most areas Monday, except across the northeast where critical conditions are likely again. Winds trend up again Tuesday, increasing fire concerns across southwest and northeastern areas. Isolated strong storms may develop in far eastern New Mexico both Tuesday and Wednesday.
