Fire weather concerns are likely to re-occur during the week ahead, with breezy to windy conditions staying in the picture, but little in the way of wetting precipitation. Several back-door fronts occasionally replenish moisture for areas along the Texas border. Dry and seasonally hot conditions on Sunday yield humidity values less than 15 percent, generally south of I-40, with areas of Elevated fire weather conditions possible. Lower 20-foot wind speeds will be a limiting factor, though. Tuesday appears similar to Sunday, but with stronger westerly winds allowing for Near-Critical to Critical conditions to develop, especially in the eastern Plains and Central Highlands. Southwest winds increase again in advance of the next weather system on Thursday, with areas of at least Near- Critical conditions returning.
