At 718 PM EDT, local law enforcement, doppler radar and gauge reports indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Penn Hills, Monroeville, Plum, West Mifflin, Murrysville, Wilkinsburg, Munhall, North Versailles, Swissvale, White Oak, Forest Hills, Wilkins Township, Duquesne, Turtle Creek, North Braddock, Pitcairn, Manor and Trafford. Several roads were flooded across the area. Even though the rain has ended, runoff from the earlier heavy rainfall could cause additional flooding.
