.Short term...

TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT...A low pressure to the far east of

Rose islands continues to move eastward. A trough associated to

the low pressure is oriented slightly north of Swains.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain are embedded within the trough.

Variable winds will remain through the first day of the new year.

Scattered showers will also persist in the next few days. 



.Long term...

FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...Models are now delaying the arrival of

the shortwave trough from the east to Saturday night. This event 

will extend through the weekend and the new week. Gentle northeast

winds will move across the territory on Friday and persist 

through the new week.

.Marine...

Seas of 5 to 7 feet will persist through the weekend and the new

week. Swells from the south will slightly elevate seas on

Thursday. Another set of swells from the north will move across

the islands on Thursday night. This will elevate seas 6 to 8 feet

through the weekend.
