Issued at 214 AM MST Sat Feb 28 2026 Will have continued dry and mild weather today with nothing of impact expected. Highs will be in the 40s mountains and 50s to near 60 valleys. New model runs have a much slower onset of precipiation with the next Pacific system holding off until late Saturday night and expect much more widespread precipiation by Sunday afternoon. Very mild low temperatures tonight with extensive cloud cover moving in with 20s to 30s mountains and upper 30s to lower 40s valleys. Snow levels by Sunday afternoon rising to 7000 to 8500 feet. Highs Sunday mainly 40s mountains and 50s valleys. Showers continue through Monday as the system finally works east with highs again mainly 40s to lower 50s across the board. Snow levels down Monday to the 6500 to 7500 foot level. Expect some drying Tuesday with short wave upper level ridge moving through with only some showers in the eastern mountains. Highs remaining very mild in the 40s mountains and 50s valleys. The next Pacific storm system will overspread the region with rain and snow Wednesday and Thursday with drier conditions Friday and next Saturday. It will remain very warm Wednesday but then cooling toward normal temperatures is expected Thursday through Saturday as the system pushes east.
