This will lead to heat indices generally in the 105+ range. The ridge is expected to stay in place through late week, possibly into the weekend. An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect as heat indices remain in the 105+ range through Friday and possibly into Saturday. By Thursday the ridge axis shifts more east and begins to potentially relax a bit. This introduces the chance for some isolated to scattered (20-30%) showers and storms over portions of the area during the afternoon and evening. Chances continue into the weekend as the ridge breaks down.
