Issued at 1131 PM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 Updated the aviation discussion for the 06Z TAF issuance. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 237 PM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 Surface high pressure will slip to the southwest of the Quad State tonight, which will keep a west northwest wind going through the night. Low temperatures will range from 15 to 20, but with the winds, the wind chills will range from 5 to 15 degrees from north to south across the region. Continued northwest flow aloft will bring a weak cold front into the region Wednesday night. The boundary barely makes it through the Quad State, and will have little impact on temperatures, as New Years Day should be similar to Wednesday. Friday, a storm system moving out of the southern Plains will push a surface low eastward well to the south of the Quad State. However, it will try to spread light rain northward into southern portions of our region, mainly west Kentucky, Friday afternoon into Friday night. 12Z ensembles indicate a 20-50% chance of measurable rainfall with the best chances near the TN border. The ensembles also indicate that there is a 10% or less chance of anywhere in the Quad State receiving as much as a tenth of an inch of rain. It will be some light rain, if anything. Modest west northwesterly flow is expected for the weekend into early next week. Dry conditions with seasonable temperatures are expected. The NBM has temperatures climbing into the 50s areawide for Monday, and the 8-14 Day outlook has a strong possibility of above normal temperatures. Looks like 2026 will start off on the mild side. Let's hope it stays that way. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z WEDNESDAY/...
