Issued at 1016 PM CST Fri Feb 27 2026 The main forecasting headache as we head through the weekend will be patchy to areas of dense fog that develop each night, lingering into the early morning hours. Light winds, clear skies, and ample surface cooling will allow for fog development over the next few hours across much of southwest Alabama into south-central Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. This fog will likely reduce visibility at times below a quarter of a mile, necessitating a dense fog advisory with this forecast package. Dense fog will be most likely between midnight and 7am when the advisory goes into effect. Fog will again be possible late Saturday night into Sunday morning with a similar overall setup, so I would not be surprised if another night of dense fog occurs again for much of the area. Dry weather conditions will prevail otherwise throughout the weekend into next week. Anomalously warm weather will be here to stay for the foreseeable future as highs stay in the middle to upper 70's this weekend before returning to lower and middle 80's for next week. Lows will be in the middle 40's to lower 50's this weekend before returning back to middle 50's to lower 60's mid to late next week. A Low risk of rip currents today will continue through Monday, becoming a High risk for strong rip currents once again Tuesday and at least a Moderate risk continuing into Wednesday. MM/25 && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1016 PM CST Fri Feb 27 2026 Patchy to areas of dense fog will continue to gradually develop over the next few hours across much of southwest and south-central Alabama into the Florida Panhandle. This will reduce visibility and ceilings as low as LIFR and even VLIFR flight category at times through around daybreak. Fog gradually lifts through mid morning with flight category improving back to VFR for the day Saturday. Another night of fog, locally dense, is possible Saturday night into Sunday morning, although confidence on coverage and density is not very high at this time. Winds will remain light out of the north to northeast tonight into Saturday generally less than 5 knots. MM/25 && .MARINE... Issued at 1016 PM CST Fri Feb 27 2026 A light easterly to northeasterly flow today becomes easterly Sunday. Light to moderate easterly flow Monday becomes moderate to strong southeasterly flow late Monday night into Tuesday. A Small Craft Advisory may be needed for Monday night into Tuesday morning. Light to occasionally moderate southeasterly flow continues the rest of the week. MM/25 && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
