Issued at 1135 PM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 Now through Monday... Through the rest of the week, shortwave energy moves through a mean upper trough over the eastern Conus, with a weak reinforcing front moving south over the Southeast Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Cooler, drier air continues to move south over the Southeast as surface high pressure pushes east over the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi River Valley. This surface high passes south of land portions of the forecast area Thursday into Thursday night, restoring onshore flow by Friday. An upper level shortwave trough passes over the Southeast Friday night into Saturday, bringing another round of showers and thunderstorms to the area as a weakly organized surface low moves over the Southeast. Current guidance is indicating modest instability and upper support, leading to a low chance of rowdy storms. Behind the system, modest northerly flow ushers in a drier and some what cooler airmass over the region for Sunday into the coming week. Looking closer to temperatures, high temperatures Tuesday are expected to range from the mid 40s to around 50. From there, they slowly warm into the mid 60s to around 70 for Saturday, with a small drop for Sunday. Low temperatures in the mid 20s north of Highway 84 to low 30s along and south of I-10 expected tonight and Tuesday nights, with wind chills tonight in the 15 to low 20s. Tuesday night, with a decrease in winds, windchills bottoming out in the low to mid 20s are expected. From there, low temperatures climb into the 50s forecast area wide by Friday night. Offshore flow will keep the Rip Risk Low through the week. An uptick to Moderate is expected Friday night into Saturday as a passing system brings increased onshore flow. /16 && .AVIATION...
