(Today through Wednesday afternoon) Issued at 313 AM CST Tue Dec 30 2025 The narrow zone of enhanced moisture and lift that extended from the Guadalupe Mountains and portions of the southeast NM Plains to the Permian Basin Monday evening continues to weaken and move to the southeast of our region early this morning. The wintry precipitation event has subsequently ended and all Winter Weather WWA products were discontinued late Monday evening. Surface observations and satellite imagery indicates that areas of freezing fog are developing over portions of Eddy and southern Lea counties in southeast NM with visibility reduced to 1/4 mile or less at times. Freezing fog could further enhanced slick roads, bridges, and overpasses as well as result in a low visibility hazard through around mid morning. A Freezing Fog Advisory has been issued for these locations until 9 AM MST. An upper-level ridge will continue to build from Mexico through the Desert Southwest/Four Corners and into the Pacific Northwest today and tonight before gradually shifting east toward our forecast area on Wednesday. Dry weather conditions are expected through Wednesday afternoon. Surface high pressure will otherwise build over the state of Texas today. This feature will keep temperatures below normal today with highs in the 50s over much of the region. Temperatures will only reach into the lower to mid 40s at best where snowpack remains. Lows tonight will remain seasonably cold in the mid 20s to mid 30s over much of the area, except slightly warmer in our far southern zones. Highs will trend warmer in the 60s over much of the region on Wednesday, except for 50s over portions of the southeast NM plains and the higher elevations areas and up to 70-75 degrees along the Rio Grande. && .LONG TERM...
