(Today through Wednesday night) Issued at 1039 PM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 High pressure will continue to build into the forecast area from the Mountain West and Northern Plains tonight bringing a dry Canadian air mass into region. Winds will gradually decrease after sunset and the wind advisory should be allow to expire at 6 pm local. High level clouds are expected to hang around tonight, along with winds staying up about 10 mph or so, therefore, air temperatures will not bottom out, but still a light freeze for areas north of the I-10 corridor. Wind chills will be in the mid 20s, so do not anticipate issuing a Cold Weather Advisory. Clouds are expected to decrease on Tuesday with the high pressure nearing the forecast area, winds will also decrease. Therefore, the coldest episode this period will be on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with a light freeze for a majority of the forecast area except for the coastal locations. Also, with the clear skies and light winds, frost will be likely during this time period for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
