.KEY MESSAGES...



- Wind chills are between 5 below zero and 5 above zero this

  morning. Those venturing outdoors should wear extra layers to 

  prevent frostbite and hypothermia.



- Seasonably cool and mostly dry conditions are forecast the next

  7 days. The highest precipitation chances will be tomorrow evening,

  when there is a 20-40% chance of light snow near and north of 

  I-74.

Compared to the previous days, this forecast would be considered 

"boring". The winds have relaxed and we are moving into a period of 

drier, but seasonably cool weather. There is a cold front that will 

move through tomorrow that could have some snow flurries nick the

northern edge of the forecast area in the afternoon, but the 

amounts are not impressive. There is a 25-50% chance of more than 

a tenth of an inch, north of I-74, with this wave. This cold front

could also deliver some single digit wind chills north of I-70, 

Thursday morning. After tomorrow, we kick off the new year with a 

period of dry weather for much of the first week of 2026. 



This morning is pretty chilly with wind chills near zero (+- a 

couple degrees), but it is only temporary. Starting today, highs 

will be in the upper 20s to upper 30s. There is some gradual warming 

into the weekend. Highs by Sunday/Monday next week looks to be in 

the 40s. A cold front appears to move through early next week to 

drop highs back into the 30s. Lows of teens to upper 20s are 

forecast through the end of the seven day period.

VFR conditions are expected for the 12z period. Winds will be

gusty this afternoon/overnight to around 20 knots. Winds will be 

out of the southwest during the day, then switch back to northwest

later this evening. Ceilings will begin to lower as the end of 

the period closes in, but remain VFR.
