An extended period of quiet weather conditions is anticipated as we 

look ahead over the upcoming week. Northwest mid/upper flow will 

prevail through the middle of the week leading to dry weather 

conditions. A shortwave trough digging over the Great Lakes 

area will send a glancing blow of cooler air southward over the 

area on Thursday. This is only expected to result in a minor 

cooldown while temperatures remain above average for early Jan.



As we move into the weekend and early next week, the mid/upper ridge 

is progged to translate eastward over the central CONUS resulting in 

benign weather over the area while above average temperatures in the 

50s/low 60s prevail.
