Issued at 133 PM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 Conditions across the area have been slowly improving in the wake of the strong wintry system that crossed the area overnight. Winds that remained quite strong this morning are expected to drop off fairly quickly over the afternoon as the pressure gradient loosens over the area, which will help reduce any lingering blowing and drifting snow. Once the winds decrease, would expect to be able to drop the remaining winter headlines later this afternoon and evening. Quieter conditions then return to the region for the overnight period as some clearing moves into the area. With fresh snow and clear skies, a colder night once again lies ahead for the region, with low temperatures in the single digits to low teens. Tuesday morning wind chill readings will likely be between zero and ten below. The next clipper system will be in the works for Tuesday afternoon and evening. With limited moisture and a fairly cold airmass in place, additional snow will be somewhat limited with this next clipper. Most of the area will likely see an inch or less of snowfall, with a few locally higher totals getting closer to 2 inches. Colder air follows in the wake of the next clipper, which will bring back a period of lake effect snowfall to the region for the middle of the week. Temperatures Wednesday night will be particularly cold, with wind chill readings in the morning ranging between 15 to 25 below zero. && .AVIATION...for 06Z TAF Issuance Issued at 1047 PM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 SCT-BKN MVFR cigs with some flurries will give way to partial clearing overnight.
