Issued at 1113 PM CST Sat Feb 28 2026 00Z model guidance has continued to decrease precipitation chances today across our eastern zones as a weak disturbance moves through the area with increased moisture in the atmosphere. High level cloudiness will continue to increase this morning with some clearing in the west possible this afternoon. Mid to low level clouds are expected to form east of highway 283 by this afternoon and creep eastward tonight. High level cloudiness continues tomorrow and into tomorrow night. Winds will generally be from an easterly direction today becoming light and variable after midnight tonight. Winds then shift to the southeast tomorrow. As for temperatures, lows this morning will generally be in the 30s. A wide range of temperatures are expected this afternoon with highs ranging from the lower 40s along the I-70 corridor to low 60s across far southwestern Kansas. Lows tonight will be in the 20s with the exception of south central Kansas where low 30s will be felt. Highs tomorrow will generally be in the 50s with 60s east of highway 83. The NBM continues to bring a better chance of precipitation Tuesday into Wednesday morning as another disturbance moves through the area. The best chance of precipitation will be Tuesday night with the best chance of measurable precipitation across central Kansas. Dry conditions return Wednesday night into Thursday with a secondary disturbance moving through the area late week into this weekend. As for temperatures, expect another wide range of temperatures with 50s along the I-70 corridor to mid 70s along the KS/OK border. Expect highs in the upper 60s Wednesday with upper 70s to around 80 degrees Thursday. We then settle into the 60s for the remainder of the forecast.
