Dry conditions are expected throughout the forecast period with an 

upper level ridge building over the western United States early to 

mid week, moving over the Plains by this weekend. A few weak 

shortwaves will move down through this flow briefly shifting winds 

to the north but then quickly shifting back to a southerly direction 

by the next day. A slight increase in cloud cover is expected as 

these weak shortwaves move through the area with no precipitation 

expected. As for temperatures, highs today look to reach into the 

50s today with upper 50s to low 60s for the remainder of the 

forecast. Lows will dip into the 20s tonight with upper 20s to low 

30s for the remainder of the forecast.

Good aviation weather will continue through this TAF period as

western Kansas will remain in a downslope west-northwesterly

pattern. No major wind shift in direction and speed is expected

through late morning Wednesday, and the dry lower atmosphere

along with large scale subsidence will result in widespread VFR

flight category.
