Issued at 1143 AM CST Sat Feb 28 2026 Above normal temperatures will continue through next week as a mid to upper level high builds over the area from west to east. Winds will be moderate out of the southeast during the day today and tomorrow with gusts to around 25 MPH. Tonight, winds will be lighter, allowing for another round of patchy to areas of fog to develop. However, confidence is not as high as it was yesterday as guidance is indicating 925mb winds to be elevated through the night which could mix down to the surface disrupting fog formation. Having said that, fog potential continues nightly through early next week, with potential diminishing around mid week with the arrival of stronger winds. In terms of rain chances, these will increase to around 20-30% Wednesday into Wednesday night ahead of a closed low entering the Central Plains. The rest of the week will be mostly dry, though models have been trending wetter for next weekend with a couple of disturbances tracking in the southwesterly flow aloft. Chances for next Saturday are increasing to near 40%, but changes to the forecast are likely over the coming days. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 521 PM CST Sat Feb 28 2026 VFR conditions this afternoon are expected to lower this evening, initially the eastern TAF sites, then later for LRD and COT. CIGs are expected to be the main concern with a mix of MVFR and IFR/LIFR overnight for CRP, ALI and VCT beginning around 03-06Z. MVFR CIGs are expected to develop closer to sunrise for LRD and COT. As for VSBYs, fog is expected to develop overnight, but should generally be light with periods of MVFR VSBYs. VCT could see periods of IFR VSBYs, mainly after 09Z. S-SE gusty winds this afternoon, will settle this evening. Winds are expected to strengthen once again Sunday with gusts up to 25 knots. && .MARINE...
