Issued at 528 AM CST Tue Dec 30 2025 - Quiet weather and above normal temperatures can be expected with highs in the 60s and 70s for the better part of the next week. && .SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Wednesday night) Issued at 1055 PM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 A longwave trough continues to stay over the Eastern US as a Rex block is set up off the west coast, with the Panhandles staying under northerly to northwesterly flow aloft. Mid-level heights will rise through the day on Tuesday, supporting subsidence and a clear sky, as ridging begins to build off to our southwest. Low-level winds will turn southwesterly today which will begin to draw in a warmer airmass into the area once again, quickly bringing temperatures into the mid to upper-50s. The ridge will continue to build into the Southwestern US throughout Tuesday night and into Wednesday, allowing for the warming trend to continue; expecting highs in the upper-50s to low-60s on Wednesday with, once again, no chance for rain. Vanden Bosch && .LONG TERM... (Thursday through next Monday) Issued at 1055 PM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 A split flow regime will be set up to start the new year with a shortwave trough in the southern stream approaching California as a ridge builds over the southern High Plains. An embedded disturbance in the southern stream is expected to cause a surface low to develop in or around northeastern New Mexico through New Years Day while a weak backdoor cold front will sneak into the northeastern combined Panhandles. Expecting a slightly breezy day with westerly winds in the southwestern Texas Panhandle where temperatures will warm into the upper-60s to low-70s while the northeastern combined Panhandles could struggle to reach the 60 degrees. The aforementioned shortwave trough will quickly pass off to our south Thursday night and through Friday, and a ridge will once again build over the Panhandles. Expecting generally weak winds, a clear sky, and temperatures to be widespread in the 60s from Friday through the weekend. Vanden Bosch && .AVIATION...
