  Waters from Cape Lookout  to Surf City NC from 20 to 60 NM...
  Waters from Ocracoke Inlet to Cape Lookout NC from 20 to 60 NM...

* Until 145 AM EDT.

* At 1141 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 18 nm southeast of 14 Buoy to 40 nm south of Big Ten
  Fathom, moving east at 20 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 
           suddenly higher waves.

* Strong thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts to 40 knots, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy
rain are possible with these storms.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
